Top 5 Food Delivery Apps Performance in South Africa Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of the top food delivery services in South Africa showed varied trends across downloads and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Mr D - Groceries & Takeaway exhibited a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 26.6K at the beginning of October and peaking at 33.7K by mid-December. Active users fluctuated, beginning the quarter with approximately 2.15M and ending at 1.76M.

Uber Eats: Food & Groceries experienced a gradual increase in downloads, reaching a high of 32.1K by mid-December. However, active users showed a declining trend from 1.61M to 1.24M over the quarter.

For Astron Energy, weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 4.5K throughout the quarter, with no active user data available.

Zulzi saw a peak in downloads at 7.1K in late October, followed by a gradual decline to approximately 2.4K by the end of December.

Meanwhile, OneCart: Shopping On Demand maintained a steady download rate, hovering around 3.3K, with active users peaking at 34.3K in mid-December before slightly decreasing to 31.7K by the end of the year.
